The Role
Are you ready to make a real difference in people’s lives while building a rewarding career? At Raven Housing Trust, we’re passionate about creating safe, healthy homes for our residents—and we’re looking for someone who shares that commitment.
Due to the recent growth of our housing portfolio, we’re expanding our Asset Management team and looking for an Asset Surveyor to join us at an exciting time of transformation. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a role that offers real variety, autonomy, and the chance to develop specialist expertise in housing and asset intelligence.
This is not a traditional diagnostic surveying role—it’s about observation, insight, and building a detailed understanding of our homes to help shape investment decisions and improve living standards across our communities. You’ll be out and about, visiting properties, using smart technology, and playing a key part in how we future‑proof our homes.
This is more than a job—it’s an opportunity to be part of a team that values innovation, collaboration, and customer focus. At Raven, we empower our people to lead with purpose. You’ll join an organisation that values belonging, ownership, and collaboration—where your voice matters and your impact is felt across our communities.
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you’ll be at the heart of how we understand and improve our homes, combining field-based activity with smart systems and data insight. You will:
• Visit homes across our portfolio (Brighton to Croydon), capturing accurate observations and photographic records
• Build a clear understanding of property condition, including key areas such as damp and mould
• Use digital tools to record and manage data, creating a consistent view of our housing stock
• Manage your own diary and appointments through a smart scheduling system to keep your day running smoothly
• Engage with customers in their homes, delivering a professional, positive experience
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for someone who enjoys being out in the field, is naturally observant, and takes pride in delivering high-quality work. You’ll thrive in this role if you:
• Have a keen eye for detail and enjoy capturing accurate information
• Are comfortable working independently and managing your own schedule
• Enjoy interacting with a wide range of customers and creating positive experiences
• Are confident using technology and open to learning new systems and tools
• Bring a proactive, organised approach to managing travel, equipment, and appointments
• Have an interest in housing, property, or surveying, and want to build a long-term career in the sector
• Are motivated to learn and develop, with opportunities to gain EPC accreditation and work towards further professional qualifications supported by Raven
This role is particularly well suited to individuals from backgrounds such as energy assessment, housing, property inspection, or other field-based roles.
Why join Raven?
At Raven, we’re more than just a housing association — we’re a community‑focused organisation committed to creating positive change. You’ll be joining a supportive, forward‑thinking team where your ideas and expertise will genuinely make a difference.
You will also share our values: earning trust by being open and accountable, listening with an open mind, working collaboratively, and caring about making things better.
What Raven will offer in return
To create a great experience for our customers, we need to create a great experience for one another. What Raven offers goes beyond the ordinary, giving you the opportunity to join a community of people who share the same values and are passionate about making a difference.
Our reward package includes:
• Competitive salaries
• Fantastic work/life balance with flexible working and generous leave entitlement
• Strong focus on learning and development, with opportunities to grow your skills and career
• Enhanced maternity, paternity, and adoption pay
• Funded health cash plan
• Extensive wellbeing support
• Voucher-based recognition scheme
• Retail discounts
Raven are focused on creating a diverse and inclusive workplace. We encourage applications form all candidates, including minority ethnics, the LBGTQ+ community, people with disabilities and long-term health conditions, neurodivergent people, parents, carers, and people from lower socio-economic backgrounds.
