Are you a passionate and committed Children’s Residential Support Worker who wants to make a real difference? This Children’s Residential Support Worker role in Bristol supports young people aged 8–18 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). You’ll help create a safe, homely environment where young people feel cared for and can develop socially, emotionally and behaviourally.
As a Children’s Residential Support Worker in Bristol, you’ll work in a fast-paced setting where no two days are the same—challenging at times, but incredibly rewarding.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead by example and support the management team to run the shift as a Children’s Residential Support Worker in Bristol
Take greater responsibility for mentoring and supporting newer staff members
Encourage young people to take part in activities and build responsibility for their own lives (in line with age and needs)
Maintain a homely, friendly culture and environment within the home
Deal with challenging behaviours safely, sympathetically and consistently
Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare
Provide day-to-day support in the home, promoting independence and well-being
Maintain a safe environment and keep up-to-date with care plans, guidelines, reward systems and preferred communication methods
Support positive working relationships with staff, parents, Social Workers and other professionals involved in the young person’s life
Requirements:
Experience as a Children’s Support Worker or experience working with young people (desired)
Experience in another healthcare or social care setting (desired)
Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young People (desired)
A full driver’s licence is essential due to the nature of the role and activities involved
Resilience, enthusiasm and the ability to work effectively in a changing, fast-paced environment
