Looking for a fulfilling role in a vital service? We are seeking a full-time Switchboard Operator to join the team at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
You will play a crucial role in connecting callers to the right people and departments, handling approximately 3,000+ calls per day.
As the first point of contact for many callers, you will provide professional support for both internal and external enquiries, including emergency calls, helping to ensure the smooth operation of a busy hospital environment.
The Role
Answer internal and external calls in line with agreed KPI and SLA targets
Provide efficient, courteous, and helpful support to callers
Operate the hospital's internal bleep system
Proactively maintain the computer database of hospital personnel, departments, and telephone numbers
Undertake clerical duties as required to support the efficient operation of the department
Support the delivery of a 24/7 service, including working public and bank holidays where your shift pattern requires
About You
Good communication and clerical skills
Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team
Able to remain calm and perform well under pressure
Previous switchboard, customer service, or administrative experience is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided
