Ref: YJMO/961C
Hours of work: 6 hours per week with the opportunity to do more. Afternoons are preferred but this can be flexible.
Pay: £13.45 per hour.
About the employer:
I am a 56 year old husband and dad.
I enjoy getting out and about, whether that’s going for a drive in the countryside or taking a walk along the beach and enjoying the fresh air. I also like shopping trips and listening to music or sports on the radio.
At home, I enjoy spending time in the kitchen cooking, with support from my PA, and relaxing with sci-fi, comedy and horror films. I’m looking for someone who can support me to stay active, enjoy my interests, and make the most of my time both at home and out in the community.
Myself, my wife and my 21-year-old daughter are all severely sight impaired and are currently waiting for a Guide dog to further assist us. We have a small team of PA’s who support us as a family.
We are a pet Friendly household with 2 cats currently.
Job description
To assist with a variety of tasks which will enable/assist me in all aspects of daily living including accompanying me to get out and about, supporting me with tech and correspondence and accompanying me to enjoy time with my daughter on days out.
At present I am a white cane user, but outdoors in busy areas I require my PA to guide me. Guide training can be provided.
A full uk driving licence is essential for this role. I have my own vehicle for PA’s to drive me in. I require a confident driver who is willing to drive long distances to support me to visit family members.
This would require a stay over in a hotel which would be paid for for you. Plus additional overnight salary would be paid as well. This would only be occasionally.
A good sense of humour is essential as I enjoy a bit of banter.
Required Qualifications/Experience
Must be self-motivated and well organised.
