Summary
Job title – Accounts Manager

Tian Tian Market is a growing retail brand promoting South East & East Asian lifestyle in the UK. We’re looking for an experienced finance manager to join the team.
The ideal candidate will have finance management experience within retail/FMCG industries. They will be comfortable with day-to-day finance duties as well as planning long-term strategy, thriving under tight deadlines & changing needs. This person will oversee the entire finance function of the company reporting to the owner & Operations Director. It is an office-based role located in East London.
Responsibilities:
Daily cash, card and bank reconciliations across all store locations
Monitoring company bank accounts, cash flow and daily banking activities
Managing supplier account setup and maintaining accurate supplier records
Handling supplier invoice queries, discrepancies and disputes
Monitoring purchasing controls and supporting cost management initiatives
Preparing and reviewing monthly payroll information and payroll submissions
Managing payroll deadlines and responding to payroll-related queries
Preparing and posting journals within Xero including accruals, prepayments and payroll journals
Completing monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, supplier accounts and balance sheet items
Supporting month-end close procedures and management accounts preparation
Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns
Managing HMRC correspondence and statutory compliance obligations
Supporting Companies House filings and corporation tax preparation
Managing utilities accounts, supplier contracts and property-related payments
Maintaining lease agreements, insurance policies and business licences
Preparing financial and operational reports for senior management
Monitoring operational costs and identifying cost-saving opportunities
Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities
Providing operational finance support to store and management teams
Reviewing and maintaining the company fixed asset register
Supporting product profitability and margin analysis
Monitoring store consumables and operational expenditure
Developing relationships with external contacts such as auditors, solicitors and HM Revenue & Customs
Required skills and qualifications:
Proven experience as a Finance Manager
Proven experience as a Finance Manager or Accounts Manager
Experience in the Retail (preferred)
Strong understanding of financial processes, reconciliations and reporting
Proficient user of Xero and finance/accounting software
Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
Able to manage, guide and support employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are followed
A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles
Experience implementing cost controls and budget management
Working knowledge of VAT, payroll and statutory compliance obligations
Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
BA/MA degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics (preferred)
Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA/ACA/CIMA preferred you will have eligibility to work in the UK. (preferred)
