Summary
We are looking for a caring, reliable and positive Personal Assistant to support a gentleman with a spinal injury who lives in his family home in the LE67 area.
This is a rewarding role supporting an individual to live safely, comfortably and independently within his own home and local community. The household includes family members, children and pets, so applicants should be comfortable working within a busy family environment.
Our client enjoys spending time outdoors every day and likes to remain active within the community. This role would particularly suit someone who is outgoing, enjoys being outside, has good attention to detail and takes a positive approach to supporting others.
Flexible working arrangements are available, including the possibility of school-hours working and set shifts where appropriate.
Previous care experience is beneficial but is not essential. Full training will be provided. We are primarily looking for someone with the right attitude, a willingness to learn and a genuine desire to make a positive difference.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Working in line with the client's Care Plan and Risk Assessments, duties will include:
Personal Care and Daily Living Support
• Providing personal and intimate care in a dignified and respectful manner.
• Assisting with washing, dressing and personal hygiene.
• Supporting positioning and comfort throughout the day.
• Applying prescribed creams and monitoring skin integrity.
• Supporting continence care, including catheter and bladder management following training and guidance provided.
Health and Wellbeing Support
• Supporting the client to take their own medication.
• Monitoring medication supplies and reporting concerns.
• Delivering delegated healthcare tasks following training and competency assessments.
• Supporting nutrition and hydration needs.
• Encouraging participation in physical activity and exercise.
Mobility and Moving & Handling
• Assisting with transfers and safe moving and handling techniques.
• Supporting wheelchair use safely both at home and in the community.
• Ensuring correct seating and positioning to reduce the risk of pressure sores and maintain comfort.
Community Access and Social Support
• Supporting attendance at appointments and social activities.
• Assisting the client to access the local community safely.
• Encouraging independence and meaningful engagement in daily activities.
• Supporting outdoor activities and walks as part of the client's daily routine.
Domestic Support
• Preparing meals and drinks.
• Light household duties including cleaning and laundry.
• Maintaining a safe and comfortable home environment.
Communication and Record Keeping
• Communicating effectively with the client, family members and Rosekel Care.
• Maintaining accurate records and reporting any concerns, incidents or changes in wellbeing.
• Supporting reviews and updates to care documentation as required.
