Jennifer Griffiths Recruitment are looking for an experienced Caretaker for a Client in the Bridgend area.
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Caretaker to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall condition of our premises. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the environment remains welcoming and well-maintained, supporting the smooth operation of our organisation. This role offers an opportunity to contribute positively to our community by providing essential upkeep and support services.
Duties
To be responsible for the overall management of the site ensuring all areas are maintained, cleaned/cleared and are safe.
To be responsible for the maintenance and safety of specialist equipment.
To make arrangements for specialist and emergency cleaning taks to be undertaken.
To ensure heating, plant, machinery and lighting systems are maintained and operated.
To undertake regular site inspections.
To make arrangements for the effective response to emergency call outs.
To manage provision of alarm systems, CCTV or surveillance equipment.
To manage fire safety provision and schedule fire drills.
To be responsible for ensuring that property surveys are carried out and regular inspections are completed with defects reported accordingly.
To ensure suitable and sufficient signage is displayed in the premises.
Skills
Proven experience in cleaning, maintenance, or caretaking roles is advantageous.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Excellent attention to detail to ensure high standards of cleanliness and safety.
Good communication skills for reporting issues clearly and working collaboratively with team members.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while following health and safety guidelines.
Physical fitness to perform manual tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to caretaking roles is desirable.
