Summary
• I need support to make sure I get up in the morning, have breakfast and take my medication and travel to college.
• I find it really difficult to manage my anxiety when I am doing things that involve people, like going to college, traveling on public transport or going shopping. So I need your help to still do these things.
• I struggle to cook as seeing food before it’s cooked or touching it puts me off eating it. Given the choice I don’t like eating either. I need someone to pick me up from college and help me to cook a meal.
• I can have low moods so all sharps and medications are locked away and I am supervised when using them.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Work in partnership with me to apply strategies to reduce my anxiety.
• To work as part of a team so that all my support and strategies are communicated and shared with everyone that supports me.
• Ensure I take my medication and eat breakfast and dinner.
• Help me develop life skills eg cooking and travel training.
pecific Requirements
• I am looking for someone who is kind, caring and sense of humour would be much appreciated.
• Someone who understands anxiety and is prepared to learn how to spot early signs of me being overwhelmed and use a wide range of strategies.
• You need to be a good verbal communicator.
• Must have a driving licence and have own transport.
• Willing to have a enhance DBS, provide a full work history and have two professional references (one of which must be from previous employer)
• Treats the young person with dignity and respect e.g. disability and gender Identity.
Required Training
Understanding /experience of:
• Implementing Safety Plans to ensure the home environment is safe in reducing both opportunity and intrusive thoughts around self-harm and suicidal ideation.
• Experience of supporting young people with social anxiety and implementation of successful strategies for community engagement.
• Experience or qualifications in supporting young people with Autism/ Mental Health.
• Experience of promoting and supporting independent living in the home and out in the community.
• Transport me to and from college.
How will the hours be used Mon: 7.30am- 8.30am then 3pm-5pm
Tues: 7.30am- 8.30am then 3pm-5pm
Wed: 7.30am- 8.30am then 3pm-5pm
Thu: 7.30am- 8.30am then 3pm-5pm
Fri: 7.30am- 8.30am then 3pm-5pm
3 hours alternate weekend with which the day can be flexible
