Summary
Starting at the end of July 2026, a wonderful live-out nanny position has become available, working with a professional and friendly family of four in Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire. The family is looking for a kind, fun, proactive and reliable nanny to join their family.
You will have sole charge of two happy and active boys aged eight and four years. The children enjoy being busy playing outside, as well as indoor activities and playing games. The children attend school each day.
The hours will be term time (34 weeks) Monday-Friday, 14.30 -18.30 (20 hours/week). These hours mean there will be time before the school pick up for nursery duties and organising the children, making their dinner, etc. The family are flexible to allow for some of the nursery duties to be carried out on one day or for a later start and finish (e,g, 15.00 – 19.00).
In the school holidays (18 weeks) the hours will increase to Monday-Friday, 07.30-18.30 (55 hours/week). Your salary will be split evenly across the year.
There could also be some ad hoc additional hours and babysitting, but these will be mutually agreed separately and paid as overtime.
In the school holidays, you will be able to take the children on fun and educational day trips and activities, such as the farm, soft play, etc. You will also be able to meet up with their friends to help them to socialise, always keeping the children happy and safe.
As well as collecting the children from school or their clubs, you will help to keep the family organised. This includes tasks such as general childcare, school admin, children’s laundry, keeping their bedrooms organised and tidy, ensuring they have everything they need for the next day (uniform and sports kits prepared, etc). You will also oversee and provide encouragement with any homework.
You will be responsible for preparing healthy and nutritious meals for the children each day, preferably homemade whenever possible.
Although there is a weekly cleaner, any help to keep the house running smoothly would be appreciated (keeping the kitchen and living areas tidy, emptying the dishwasher, etc).
At the end of the day, you will oversee bathtime and leave all used rooms tidy, ready for the parents to take over.
You should be a careful and confident driver with a clean driving licence and your own fully insured car. Duty mileage will be paid.
