Summary
Part Time Administrator / Coordinator - Remote Working
Reporting to:
Founder, Business Manager & Project manager
Overall Purpose of the Job:
This jobs entails you working primarily from home as Administrators. In the near future, you will need to attend the office on 2 working days. In addition, there is additional contact supervision work available at £25ph. Please note that this job may require you to work between the hours of 2pm-5.30pm 2-3 days a week with some morning work available. The role may not suit someone who has to pay any childcare costs or who has to answer calls from home with a child under 5 in the background.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- We will ask you to schedule supervision of children’s contact to parents, family, friends and carers working with court orders and referring agencies contact decisions;
- to provide concise, relevant and accurate recording of discussion with other professional and agencies in line with internal policy and procedural guidance; to
- ensure that client confidentiality is maintained (in accordance with procedures) at all times;
- review and accept referrals in line with the referral policy and procedure;
- schedule supervision, organise team meetings and monitor training, organise training needs of volunteers;
- organise, prioritise and manage workload under your own initiative in a creative and flexible approach;
- assist board with the re-accreditation of the service and to prepare reports as required by assessors under guidance and supervision of your manager;
- You will assist with marketing as required;
- to function as a member of the team carrying out duties and responsibilities required for the day to day running of the service; and
- to undertake all other duties/ responsibilities (as may reasonably be required within) that may arise within the overall job role including organising and taking minutes of the quarterly board meetings.
- Assist Project manager with the project to secure a new premises, in Croydon, for the charity.
- The optional £30ph role will require you to organise, supervise, record and assess child contact with an awareness of safeguarding the child (freelance work)
- Answer calls and give accurate information to new enquirers via email or over the phone.
Qualifications and Experience: (Essential = E / Desirable = D)
- Experience in working with children or caring for children. (D)
- Experience in child-centred work with specific knowledge/and or experience in fostering, adoption, teaching or family work. (D)
- Experience of managing a team of volunteers and staff diaries. (D)
- Experience of reporting to a board/and or committee. (D)
Knowledge and Skills
1. Ability to demonstrate a good understanding of the impact of race, culture and religion has on families and children (E)
2. Good understanding of safeguarding procedures and processes. (D)
3. Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people (E)
4. An understanding of parental and carer conflict following family breakdown (D)
5. Ability to support families with signposting to appropriate agencies. (D)
6. Ability to work directly with traumatised children in a sensitive and supportive manner. (E)
9. Excellent time management and organisational skills. (E)
