Summary
This is an 18-month Level 3 Information Communications Technician apprenticeship with Kingfisher Windows, delivered in partnership with Enable Futures. The role is full-time (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday) with flexible start and finish times around core working hours. Apprentices will earn £337 per week, including a travel allowance, while working towards an industry-recognised qualification and completing an End Point Assessment (EPA).
The apprentice will develop the skills needed to become the company's primary IT support specialist. The role focuses on maintaining, supporting, and improving IT systems across the business. Training will be provided on specialist industry software, and the apprentice will learn how to troubleshoot technical issues, support staff with day-to-day IT needs, maintain hardware and software, manage databases, and help keep business operations running efficiently and securely.
As the apprenticeship progresses, responsibilities will include installing and configuring computers and devices, managing user accounts and permissions, supporting networks and servers, maintaining cybersecurity measures, assisting with system upgrades, and developing custom software solutions and reports. The role also involves ensuring compliance with IT policies, supporting audits, and contributing to technology-related projects across the company.
The ideal candidate will have at least three GCSEs (including Maths and English at Grade 4 or above) and a genuine interest in technology. Kingfisher Windows is looking for someone who enjoys problem-solving, communicates well, stays calm under pressure, pays close attention to detail, works in an organised way, and is motivated to learn new technical skills and take on responsibility. This apprenticeship would suit someone looking to build a long-term career in IT support and systems administration.
