Looking for your next step in legal finance or accounts? We’re seeking a detail-driven Accounts Assistant to join a respected and well-established firm, supporting financial operations and ensuring full compliance with SRA Accounts Rules.
About the Role
You’ll play a key part in managing client and office accounts, handling transactions, and maintaining accurate financial records within a professional legal environment.
Key Responsibilities:
✔ Manage client & office accounts in line with SRA rules
✔ Process CHAPS, BACS, bank transfers, cheques & receipts
✔ Maintain accurate client & office ledgers
✔ Conduct daily, weekly & monthly reconciliations
✔ Monitor account balances & ensure compliance
✔ Support property completion statements & payments
✔ Process invoices, expenses & supplier payments
✔ Assist with billing, credit control & purchase ledger
✔ Support month-end & year-end processes
✔ Assist with audits & compliance checks
✔ Liaise with clients, legal teams, banks & suppliers
What We’re Looking For:
✔ Previous Accounts Assistant or legal accounts experience
✔ Strong understanding of SRA Accounts Rules
✔ Experience with legal accounting systems
✔ Excellent attention to detail & numerical accuracy
✔ Strong Excel & IT skills
✔ Highly organised with strong time management
✔ Ability to work independently & meet deadlines
✔ Strong communication skills
