Summary
The Technology, Simulation and Digital Futures Fellow at University Hospitals Sussex is a one-year post designed for a resident doctor (FY2+, equivalent or higher) with an interest in medical education, technology enhanced learning and simulation. The Fellow will lead on designing and implementing educational resources, simulation training, and gaining intelligence regarding the use of technology enhanced learning methodologies, and digital literacy. The fellow will also evaluate the andragogy of virtual reality, augmented reality and generative artificial intelligence for use in educational programs at UHSussex. Working closely with the technology enhanced learning team, knowledge and libraries team and the simulation and essential clinical skills team the successful applicant will co-ordinate learning opportunities to improve staffs digital literacy, educate educators on new trends in technology enhanced learning and evaluate the use of extended reality and artificial intelligence in simulation design. This portfolio of cutting edge skills will make a significant strategic contribution to the trust's workforce development plans. It offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in clinical leadership, educational design, and the transformation of a workforce from analogue to digital. This fellowship is an excellent opportunity for a resident doctor, who is interested in developing their education portfolio, to significantly develop their management skills and understanding of educational methodologies utilised in medical education in a large, complex Trust. This post will allow the postholder to develop skills in project design, management, leadership, delivery and support of teaching programmes as well as project assessment. The role would be ideal for someone looking to explore a career in medical education and leadership. The postholder will work across all sites but will be based for administrative purposes at the Royal Sussex County site.
