Summary
We are seeking to appoint a Clinical Placement Support Tutor, 0.6 FTE, to support the delivery, development and quality assurance of our FdSc Veterinary Nursing degree.
This is an excellent opportunity for a registered veterinary nurse or veterinary surgeon with experience of clinical supervision, practice-based learning and/or quality assurance of veterinary nursing education. The successful candidate will work closely with the Programme Lead, students, Clinical Supervisors and veterinary training practices to support high-quality clinical placement provision and help ensure the programme continues to meet professional and accreditation requirements.
The postholder will play a key role in developing and maintaining strong relationships with veterinary training practices affiliated with the University. This will include supporting the recruitment of new training practices, developing placement links for students, and providing ongoing support and quality assurance for both students and practice teams.
The role will involve travel to veterinary training practices to deliver Clinical Supervisor training, undertake training practice audits, review Nursing Progress Logs (NPLs), liaise with students and Clinical Supervisors, and deliver student tutorials. The postholder may also contribute to clinical skills practical sessions, and to the delivery of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activity for the local veterinary sector, where appropriate.
We are looking for a confident and supportive professional who understands veterinary nursing education, values effective practice partnerships, and is committed to helping students develop the knowledge, skills and professional behaviours required for veterinary nursing practice.
