Summary
Job Title: Support Worker/Care Assistant (Agency Staff)
Location: Cockermouth, Cumbria
Type: Temporary/Contract, Flexible Shifts (including nights, weekends, bank holidays)
About the Role:
We’re looking for reliable Support Workers/Care Assistants to join our team on an agency basis. You’ll provide hands-on care and support to residents (older adults, often with dementia, mobility issues, or complex needs) in a warm, person-centred environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting, medication prompts)
- Support with meals, hydration, and social activities
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and dignified environment
- Record observations, report changes, and communicate with the care team
- Work flexibly, including nights, weekends, and bank holidays
Requirements:
- Care experience (formal or informal)
- Compassionate, patient, and able to work independently
- DBS check (or willingness to undergo)
- Good communication skills and ability to follow care plans
