Summary
A Band 6 Haematology Senior Staff Nurse delivers advanced clinical care including central line management, chemotherapyrelated interventions, blood product administration, stemcell transfusions, and ongoing assessment and coordination of complex patients. They act as a clinical resource, maintain accurate records, uphold evidencebased practice, and support quality improvement. They provide leadership and shift coordination, manage workload and staffing, liaise with medical teams and bed managers, and contribute to risk management and service development. The role includes mentoring junior staff, supervising competencies, supporting education, and participating in research. They also manage team performance, support wellbeing, maintain compliance with policies, promote safeguarding, and uphold infectioncontrol standards.
