Summary
EYFS SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant
Hours: 8.30 - 3.30
Start Date: ASAP
We are seeking a dedicated, patient and nurturing EYFS SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with complex and highly individual needs within our Early Years setting.
The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, external professionals and the child's family to provide consistent, personalised support that enables the child to access learning, develop communication skills and thrive within the school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored 1:1 support throughout the school day.
- Implement strategies recommended by specialist professionals.
- Support communication using visual timetables, PECS, Makaton or other agreed approaches.
- Assist the child with emotional regulation and transitions between activities.
- Promote independence while ensuring safety and wellbeing.
- Record observations and contribute to progress reviews.
- Work collaboratively with staff, parents and external agencies.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience supporting children with complex SEN, preferably within EYFS.
- Demonstrates a calm, flexible and resilient approach.
- Has knowledge of autism, communication difficulties and sensory needs.
- Can build positive relationships and establish trust with children and families.
- Is committed to inclusive education and high expectations for all pupils.
- Holds a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable).
