Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant - Specialist SEMH School

NextGen Teachers are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEMH school in Batley for a dedicated and resilient Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people who require additional social, emotional, and mental health support to access education and achieve their potential.

The school provides a nurturing and structured environment for pupils who may have experienced barriers to learning and require specialist support to develop academically, socially, and emotionally. The Role

As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs both in and out of the classroom.

Work on a one-to-one and small group basis to help pupils engage with learning.

Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible lessons tailored to individual needs.

Support the implementation of behaviour support plans and emotional regulation strategies.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

Previous experience working with children or young people with additional needs, SEMH, challenging behaviour, or within a support role.
