As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring they can access learning opportunities and participate fully in school life.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with additional learning needs
- Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
- Supporting pupils' communication, social interaction, and emotional wellbeing
- Implementing individual learning plans and support strategies
- Encouraging positive behaviour and helping pupils develop independence
- Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
- Working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals
- Supporting personal care needs where required, while maintaining dignity and respect
- Helping to create a safe, positive, and nurturing learning environment
- Promoting pupil confidence, engagement, and achievement
Your contribution will play a vital role in helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve their goals.
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare, Education, or a related field
- Has experience supporting children with SEN in a school, childcare, or similar setting
- Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young learners
- Has a good understanding of inclusive educational practices and behaviour management
- Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Can work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one
- Competitive daily rate of pay (£90-£105 per day)
