Summary


Come and join oursupportive and friendlyspeech and language therapy team in Brighton & Hove locality which is on the beautiful coast, with easy access to Eastbourne, London and the South Downs.

We are seeking a therapist who is ready to build on their previous B5/6 experience in community clinics and is eager to make a positive contribution to our hardworking team.

Our vacancy includes 28 hours (0.77 WTE) Early Years/community clinic sessions. You will be led and supported by our experienced and approachable clinical leads who will share with you their passion for delivering clinical excellence. In addition to opportunities for CPD, we have well-established supervision arrangements.

To assess, treat and manage own caseload of children with speech, language and communication delay and disorder in specialist area.


To provide advice to other professionals and parents in order to support the needs of children with speech, language and communication delay and disorder in specialist area.


To liaise with other agencies and services e.g. schools, social care, and voluntary agencies.

To advise and provide clinical support to other speech and language therapists

To use specialist knowledge to assess and provide therapeutic input to children and young people with communication and/or eating and drinking difficulties.


To use specialist knowledge to manage a complex and specialist caseload independently and to manage service priorities and client needs.



To provide advice/ second opinions and support for other speech and language therapists and assistants on clinical issues where appropriate.


To organise caseloads within the scope of the specialist post advising SLT Clinical Lead of shortfalls and difficulties as they arise.


Manage clinical risk within own caseload and generate strategies for caseload management.


Adapt practice to meet the individual circumstances, having regard to cultural and linguistic differences. Ensure that the child/young person and parent/ carers are involved in planning and decision making relevant to therapy intervention.


To provide accurate and timely statistics as required by Speech and Language Therapy and Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust


To provide all clinical practice in line with clinical guidelines provided by RCSLT and HCPC, ratified local policies and with due regard to evidence-based practice.


Any other duties in line with the band and scope of the post
