Summary
Job Title: Service Manager
Organisation: Care Navigation
Location: Southmead.
Hours: Monday to Friday- up to 37.5hrs/week

Job Purpose
Responsible for the overall management, leadership, and development of our growing the day services and small supported living portfolio, ensuring high-quality care and support for adults with learning disabilities and behaviours that may challenge. The role involves overseeing staff, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and promoting a safe, engaging, and person-centred environment.
Key Responsibilities
Overseeing organisation of activities within the day service, ensuring they are meaningful, inclusive, and tailored to individual needs.
Supervising support of individuals with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour, promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
Ensure all care and support is person-centred and aligned with individual care plans.
Ensuring maintaining person-centred care plans and updating of client documentation, its accuracy and compliance with regulations.
Conducting outreach support spot checks for clients in the community where required.
Taking lead in working with key professionals and safeguarding meetings
Staff Management & Leadership
Provide effective leadership and day-to-day management of the whole team
Conducting regular staff team meetings, supervisions, appraisals, and performance reviews.
Lead the induction process for all new staff, ensuring they are fully trained and competent.
Carry out spot checks to monitor staff performance and quality of care.
Organise and chair regular team and day centre meetings.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Ensure all health and safety checks are completed and recorded in line with policies and regulations.
Monitor and maintain adequate levels of PPE, ensuring correct usage by staff.
Plan, organise, and record regular fire drills.
Ensure the service is always compliant with regulatory standards and prepared for audits.
Lead and support during regulatory inspections and audits.
Quality Assurance & Monitoring
Maintain high standards of care delivery through regular monitoring and evaluation.
Ensure all documentation, policies, and procedures are up to date and adhered to.
Identify areas for improvement and implement action plans where necessary.
Promote the service to attract new clients and support business growth.
Build and maintain relationships with external professionals, families, and stakeholders.
Support the onboarding and assessment of new clients into the service.
Person Specification
Must have
Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities, challenging behaviour and positive behaviour support concept and strategy.
Experience using PECS and other communication tools with people who are non-verbal.
Experience conducting staff supervisions, inductions and care quality audits.
Essential
Previous senior role experience within a care setting.
Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and safeguarding practices.
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and work under pressure.
Relevant health and social care qualification (e.g., Level 3/5 in Health & Social Care).
Experience preparing for and participating in regulatory audits/inspections.
Knowledge of person-centred planning and positive behaviour support.
Commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care and passion to work with people with learning disabilities.
Flexibility to meet the needs of the service.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
