Senior Cleaning Assistant - Grade 3 - Pro Rata Salary £8,377 - £8,642

This is a Part Time, Permanent position for 12.5 hours at Stockwell Primary School.

ROLE AND PURPOSE

Provide cleaning services to a pre-determined area in accordance with specifications and safe systems or work. To maintain a clean, tidy, safe, and healthy environment. To carry out the operational day to day management of Cleaning service, in partnership with area supervisors.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Organise all labour, order materials, and equipment within a work area in accordance with the procedures, work schedules and safe working practices. Implement corrective action and report any problems or incidents to Area Supervisor, maintaining accurate records as appropriate.

2. Deliver Induction Training of Cleaning Assistants in accordance with safe systems of work and Training and Development policy.

3. Manage and cover staff absence to ensure SLA is adhered to with regards to maintaining standards.

4. Liaise with and investigate customer complaints and report corrective action to the Area Supervisor in accordance with the Councils complaints procedure.

5. Responsible for the day to day management of cleaning teams within designated area and maintain and develop operational practices and standards.

6. Is first point of contact, for clients and allocated cleaning team, for any matters relating to service level agreements at designated sites.

7. Check Cleaning Assistants attendance and organise relief cover where necessary.

8. Supervision of all cleaning staff focussing on their performance in terms of standards of cleanliness and their behaviour whilst on duty

9. Undertake cleaning duties in accordance with the safe systems of work within a work area

10. The Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and associated legislation places responsibilities for health and safety on Hull City Council, as your employer and you as an employee of the council. In addition to the Councils overall duties, the post holder has personal responsibility for their own health and safety and that of other employees; additional and more specific responsibilities are identified in the Council’s Corporate Health and Safety policy.
