Summary
Ensure high standards of patient care are delivered consistently Act as a role model for professional nursing practice Oversee care plans, patient assessments, and safety practices Handle complex or deteriorating patients when needed Ensure compliance with infection control, safeguarding, and clinical guidelines Lead and supervise nurses, healthcare assistants, and support staff Allocate daily workloads and manage staffing levels (rota planning) Provide mentorship, training, and appraisals for staff Support staff wellbeing, performance, and professional development Manage conflicts or performance issues within the team Lead on clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives Monitor incidents, complaints, and risks (e.g. Datix reporting)Implement changes to improve patient safety and outcomes Ensure compliance with CQC standards and NHS policiesAct as a key link between: - Doctors and multidisciplinary teams - Patients and families - Hospital management Participate in ward rounds and case discussions Deal with patient/family concerns or complaints Additional Contact Details Adam Curtis T and O Matron Adam.Curtis3@nhs.net 0300 422 5040
