The Governors of La Sainte Union Catholic School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, well-qualified and committed Teacher of English to join our successful and supportive department. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate practitioner who will contribute to the continued success of English across the school. The successful candidate will be expected to teach English across the ability range at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
We would welcome applications from candidates who can also offer a second subject—particularly Drama, Law or Classics. For candidates with a suitable subject combination, there may be the opportunity for a full-time appointment.
The Successful Candidate Will:
• set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge students, creating a safe and stimulating learning environment
• be accountable for students’ attainment, progress and outcomes, ensuring all students achieve their full potential
• demonstrate strong subject and curriculum knowledge, fostering a love of literature and language
• plan and deliver well-structured, engaging lessons and contribute to an ambitious and inclusive curriculum
• adapt teaching effectively to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND, EAL and high ability
• use assessment effectively to monitor progress, inform teaching and provide high-quality feedback
• manage behaviour effectively to ensure a positive and productive learning environment
• contribute to the wider life of the school, including enrichment and extra-curricular activities
• develop strong professional relationships with colleagues, parents and students, and engage fully in professional development
• uphold the Catholic ethos of the school and contribute to the formation and wellbeing of all students
We are looking for a teacher who is an excellent classroom practitioner, committed to high standards of teaching and learning, and passionate about inspiring students through English.
