Grade: Grade E - SCP 8 - 11 (£26,823 – 28,141 per annum, pro rata) plus First Aid Allowance (£500 p.a.)
Hours: 22 Hours per Week, Term Time Only + INSET days (39 weeks), Permanent
St Thomas More Catholic School is a co-educational Catholic Academy which provides for the education needs of 11-18 year old pupils from the west of Gateshead L.A. We are part of the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle and have a strong commitment to Catholic Education.
Our school aims to provide a stimulating and encouraging environment within which students can attain the highest standards of which they are capable, and to assist them in taking their place in the world outside school in a useful and fulfilling career, with a firm sense of Christian commitment. We are seeking an individual to:
● Support teachers and learners in lessons.
● Prepare classroom materials e.g. organising work sheets, preparing support materials, setting up equipment following instructions from the subject teacher.
● Act as a key worker for designated pupils on the SEN Register and take part in associated meetings and administration.
● Assist with the administration of SEN information e.g. circulating profiles and giving admin support to the department.
The successful candidate will have:
● 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above or equivalent including Maths and English.
● Post 16 Higher Education, Teaching Assistant or Degree level qualification.
● Experience of working with children in an educational setting.
● Good ICT skills.
● Good communication skills.
