DVSA plays a vital role in ensuring driving tests are delivered efficiently and consistently across the country. In this role, you will support driving examiners by managing schedules, coordinating cover where necessary, and maintaining accurate operational records. Working closely with the Operational Management team, you will contribute to achieving performance targets, reducing waiting times for customers, and ensuring examiner deployment is planned and managed in a cost-effective and efficient manner.

DVSA roles: Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency - Department for Transport Careers

This role supports the efficient delivery of driving tests across the UK. You will work closely with driving examiners to coordinate schedules, arrange appropriate cover, and ensure operational records are accurate and up to date. In collaboration with the Operational Management team, you will contribute to achieving performance targets, minimising customer waiting times, and supporting the effective and economical deployment of examiners.

Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:

1. Ensure consistent availability of test slots across all test centres, meeting the Agency’s targets on waiting times

2. Apply sound judgement when deciding whether to cover or cancel appointments, particularly in situations where decisions must be made at short notice.

3. Maintain up-to-date and accurate records for driving examiners, Approved Driving Instructors (ADIs), and test centres across internal systems.

4. Encourage open and regular communication within the team to keep everyone aligned and working together.
