Summary
Are you able to deliver fantastic customer service? We are looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working people person, to help work in our cafe and visitor centre at our Sherwood Forest Reserve. You'll be working in our visitor centre, indoors and outdoors, helping to give a warm welcome to our visitors and assisting with the day-to-day running of our operations. Our visitor operation runs all year round so you will need to be flexible and available to work weekends, bank holidays and during the week. You will also greet visitors and ensure they are set up for a great visit and deliver excellent customer service in our shop and café. This will include working in the kitchen, on the tills, and making hot drinks. A full induction and training will be provided. Essential skills, knowledge and experience:GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) are required a a level to handle cash accurately, balance tills, and communicate clearly with customers and the wider team.Understanding of basic food hygiene practices in a café or customer-facing environmentAble to use tills, email and basic computer systemsPositive and reliable approach to supporting visitors and colleaguesAble to communicate clearly and confidently with visitors and colleaguesAble to organise and prioritise day-to-day tasks during busy periodsAble to manage several tasks at once in a busy visitor and café environmentAble to resolve day-to-day visitor or operational issues independently when neededAble to respond professionally and positively to visitor questions and customer service situationsAble to work collaboratively with colleagues and volunteersFurther Information: This is a part-time permanent role. Minimum hours will be 4 per week, rising during peak trading times. Mid-week and weekend working will be required, including bank holidays. There will be the opportunity to pick up extra hours to cover annual leave and sickness as required. The RSPB reserves the right to extend or make this role permanent without further advertising dependent on business needs at the end of the contract term.
