Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and organised individual to join our audience development team working across libraries, schools, and community venues.



The Audience Development Assistant role is being offered initially as a 2-year fixed term post. It is a new position designed to strengthen outward-facing engagement, supporting our work with communities, schools and outreach activity.



The role is 30 hours per week, typically spread over 4-5 days, with some flexibility at this stage. As the post develops, there may be opportunities to shape working patterns in response to service needs and emerging priorities.



Darlington Libraries aim to provide a customer focused environment for adults and children of all ages to engage with enjoyable reading, learning, digital and cultural experiences.



The successful candidate will have their own transport and help to take our popular Bookstart Rhymetime sessions out into the community, whilst also working with partners in health and education to offer further opportunities for people to engage with library services both within our library buildings, and at external venues across the town.
