We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Woolston, Warrington.
This rewarding role involves providing 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with Autism who finds it challenging to access the mainstream classroom environment. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to help the child engage with learning, develop social skills, and regulate their emotions throughout the school day.
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience supporting children with Autism in a school setting
Strong knowledge and experience of phonics interventions
Experience using sensory strategies and resources to support learning and regulation
A patient, nurturing and proactive approach
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
The role:
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day
- Delivering phonics-based learning activities
- Supporting emotional regulation using sensory approaches
- Encouraging positive engagement with learning and social interactions
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCO and parents where required
