Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Reviews Officer (Homelessness) to join our Housing team. This pivotal role involves overseeing and managing the review processes related to homelessness cases to ensure compliance with housing policies and legislation. The successful candidate will play a critical part in safeguarding the rights of vulnerable individuals by conducting thorough assessments and reviews of homelessness applications and decisions. You will work closely with various stakeholders, including housing officers, legal teams, and external agencies, to deliver fair and transparent outcomes that support our commitment to providing effective housing solutions. Your role will contribute directly to improving the lives of individuals experiencing homelessness by ensuring they receive accurate information, support, and appropriate intervention where necessary. The Reviews Officer will also assist in identifying trends and areas for improvement within our homelessness services and support continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities
Conduct detailed reviews of homelessness applications and decisions in accordance with housing legislation.
Provide clear and comprehensive reports on review outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborate with housing officers, legal advisors, and external agencies to resolve homelessness cases effectively.
Maintain accurate records of all review activities and ensure compliance with data protection guidelines.
Identify trends and areas for improvement within homelessness review processes and contribute to service enhancements.
Offer timely advice and support to operational teams to ensure consistent application of homelessness policies.
Participate in training sessions and continuous professional development to stay current with housing law and best practices.
Requirements
Proven experience in a housing or homelessness-related role, preferably involving case reviews or assessments.
Strong knowledge of homelessness legislation and housing policies relevant to review processes.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex cases accurately.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with diverse stakeholders.
Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and professionally.
Proficiency in maintaining detailed and accurate records using relevant IT systems.
Empathy and a commitment to supporting vulnerable individuals facing homelessness.
