Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

St Cuthbert’s RC High School are seeking to appoint an exceptional Assistant Faculty Leader (Curriculum Lead – Geography). This is an exciting opportunity to join the Trust at the beginning of a journey of transition, development, and growth within the multi-academy trust.

This key leadership role offers the opportunity to shape and drive excellence in Geography, within the Faculty of Global Learning, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning and student achievement across key stages 3 and 4.

Purpose of the role:

As Assistant Faculty Leader (Curriculum Lead - Geography), you will provide strong and effective leadership of the RE department, driving forward standards of teaching and learning to ensure all pupils achieve their full potential.

You will lead on the development, implementation and evaluation of the Geography curriculum, ensuring it is ambitious, inclusive and aligned with whole-school priorities. The role includes monitoring pupil progress, developing staff, and contributing strategically to school improvement.

In addition to your leadership responsibilities, you will be an outstanding classroom practitioner, modelling excellent teaching and inspiring both pupils and colleagues.

We are seeking an individual who:

• Is an outstanding teacher of subject with a strong track record of securing excellent outcomes.
• Has the ability to inspire, motivate and lead a team to achieve high standards.
• Demonstrates strong subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4 and a passion for subject education.
• Has experience, or clear potential, in leadership, coaching and developing colleagues.
• Can use data effectively to monitor performance, raise attainment and close gaps.
• Is committed to innovation and continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
• Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills and works effectively as part of a team.
• Fully supports the Catholic ethos and values of the school.
