Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

Lavington School is seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team. As a member of staff within our Trust, you will contribute to a collaborative working environment and play a key role in supporting the learning and development of all pupils.

As a Teaching Assistant at Lavington School, you will work closely with teachers to support learning, helping students to achieve their full potential while promoting independence, confidence and inclusion. You will provide tailored support to individuals and small groups, ensuring all pupils, including those with SEND, can access the curriculum and feel a sense of achievement in their learning. The role involves preparing and organising learning resources, maintaining a safe and engaging classroom environment, and using effective behaviour management strategies to support positive outcomes. You will observe student progress, monitor targets and share feedback with teachers and the SENCO to contribute to informed decision-making. Collaboration is key, as you will communicate effectively with staff, parents and external professionals to support students’ development and wellbeing. In addition, you will contribute to the wider life of the school, including supporting extracurricular activities, safeguarding pupils, and assisting with interventions and examinations where needed. You will also be expected to engage in ongoing professional development, uphold high standards of conduct, and play an active role in creating a supportive, inclusive and aspirational school environment.
