Halo Staffing is urgently seeking a dedicated and reliable Support Worker to join our team, providing essential, tailored assistance for a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) working within a primary school in Braintree, North Essex.

Pay: Up to £12.71 per hour

Your responsibilities will include:

Providing person-centred support and care to help a primary school LSA succeed in their daily role.

Assisting with daily administrative tasks, including manual and typed note-taking during lessons/meetings, writing reminder lists, photocopying, and reading out small-print communications.

Performing moving and handling duties safely and effectively, including opening doors, escorting/navigating around the classroom and school grounds, and pushing a manual wheelchair if the primary electric wheelchair is out of action.

Maintaining dignity and promoting independence by assisting with comfort adjustments at the desk (e.g., setting up a footstool and providing light physical balance/assistance to elevate the individual's leg).

Supporting individuals to achieve their personal goals and aspirations by assisting with physical tasks requiring manual dexterity throughout the school day (e.g., zipping/unzipping coats, opening lunch boxes, peeling fruit, and opening containers).

A highly stable, consistent schedule of 16 hours and 15 minutes per week (spread across 5 days during term time, totalling 643 hours per year, approximately 9AM-12:15PM).

Requirements:

Previous experience in a care, support, or educational support role is preferred.

Strong manual dexterity and structural organizational skills (accurate note-taking and administrative support).

Confidence and competence in light physical guidance, balance support, and moving/handling assistance.

A compassionate, patient, reliable, and professional nature suitable for a primary school environment.

Right to work in the UK.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
