The Governors of the Hollies School are seeking to appoint 4 experienced, enthusiastic, dynamic and reliable Senior Teaching Assistants to work with pupils on the autism spectrum.
The Hollies School is a local authority primary special school for pupils with a statement of special educational needs. The pupils have a diagnosis of autism.
The posts are offered at 32.5 hours a week during term time. Holidays must be taken during school holiday periods.
The successful candidates will have good communication and interpersonal skills as well as a genuine commitment to the education and development of children on the Autism Spectrum.
In-house training will be offered to the successful candidates who should be enthusiastic and committed to working within a dedicated team that offers the highest possible standards of teaching and learning.
Experience of working within a primary specialist provision or supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder is essential. The successful candidate must demonstrate experience of leading and delivering learning activities and lessons, in line with the Curriculum for Wales, and supporting pupils’ progress and wellbeing effectively. The ability to work flexibly, use initiative, and maintain a positive sense of humour is essential.
Under the Education (Wales) Act 2014, all School Learning Support Workers must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
