Summary
Ensure that direct reports address capability and disciplinary issues as needed and appropriate support is provided to staff. Promote a culture where staff feel empowered and accountable for service improvement at a local level. Ensure that all staff in responsibility receive appropriate training and on-going development to enable them to competently and safely fulfil their roles. Promote learning opportunities in a wide range of formats to improve multidisciplinary and flexible working. Ensure effective supervision and management of all team members, including any work you delegate to them, ensuring the quality, safety and effectiveness of this work at all times Ensure all reports receive effective development reviews and supervision in line with the service and Trust policies and that training needs are identified. Establish and maintain clear expectations of professional behaviour and conduct with the teams and where appropriate, work alongside the Management Team to undertake action in accordance with the relevant Trust Policies. Participate in the staff appraisal process and undertake the appraisal of line reports. Participate in the recruitment and selection of staff as appropriate. Participate in the initial investigation and resolution of grievances from relevant staff. Be responsible for maintaining and developing own competency to practice through CPD activities and to maintain a portfolio which reflects personal development in line with the requirements of the GDC.
