1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant (Permanent)Independent School near Stroud3–4 Days per WeekPermanent PositionStarting September 2026 (or sooner by agreement)Thrive Education is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive independent school near Stroud for a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 pupil with additional needs.This is a rewarding opportunity for a caring, patient and committed individual who is passionate about helping children achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will work closely with the pupil, class teacher and wider school team to provide tailored support throughout the school day.The position is expected to be 3 or 4 days per week and will be offered on a permanent basis following a successful introduction process. The school is keen to meet prospective candidates before making any appointment to ensure the right fit for both the pupil and the wider school community.The RoleProvide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with additional needs.Assist with learning activities, engagement and emotional wellbeing.Support the implementation of strategies recommended within the pupil's EHCP.Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents and external professionals where appropriate.Help create a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.The Ideal CandidateExperience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is desirable.A patient, empathetic and flexible approach.Strong communication and relationship-building skills.Ability to adapt support strategies to meet the child's individual needs.Relevant Teaching Assistant qualifications are advantageous but not essential.Important InformationThis position is linked to Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) funding.
