Teaching Personnel is seeking a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join a specialist educational setting in Yeovil on a full-time basis with an immediate start available. This rewarding opportunity is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs while gaining valuable experience within education.
The provision caters for pupils with a variety of SEND requirements, including autism, communication difficulties, moderate learning needs and social, emotional and behavioural challenges. Staff work collaboratively to create a positive environment where learners feel safe, valued and motivated to succeed.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning when teaching staff are unavailable.
- Supervising classes across different age groups
- Delivering pre-prepared lesson activities
- Encouraging participation and engagement
- Promoting positive conduct and classroom routines
- Supporting pupils to access learning effectively
- Liaising with teaching staff regarding pupil progress
- Assisting with interventions and small group sessions
- Building strong professional relationships with learners
- Maintaining a calm and structured atmosphere
- Contributing to the wider life of the provision
- A minimum of 6 months' experience working with children or young people
- Confidence leading groups independently
- Strong communication and organisational abilities
- A resilient and flexible approach
- Interest in SEND education
- Ability to motivate and inspire learners
Experience in schools, youth work, residential care, sports coaching or mentoring is highly desirable.
