Job Advert: Full Time Teaching Assistant – Year 6 (1:1 Support) - Central Workington

Hannett Hale Recruitment on behalf of a great school in central Workington is looking for a committed and confident Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 6 pupil who has learning difficulties and follows a bespoke curriculum tailored to their individual needs.
The pupil does not present with any behavioural issues and has a warm, friendly personality. They simply require a strong, consistent TA who can guide them through their school day, help them stay focused, and support them in accessing their personalised learning activities.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Class Teacher and SENCO to deliver targeted support, adapt activities where needed, and help the pupil work towards their learning goals. You will play a key role in ensuring the pupil feels secure, supported, and able to make steady progress.
Additional training and development opportunities are available for the right person.

The Role
- Start Date: September 2026 - July 2027

Contract: Full Time

About You

- A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable
- Strong KS2 and 1:1 experience needed
- Experience supporting children in a school or childcare setting
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- Confident, adaptable, and proactive in supporting learning
- Passionate about helping pupils develop confidence, independence, and wellbeing
