Job Introduction

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Catering Supervisor to lead a small team of Catering Operatives and Food Service Assistants, ensuring the delivery of high-quality food services that meet client expectations and company standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced catering professional who enjoys leading a team, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining high standards of food safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support a team of Catering Operatives and Food Service Assistants.
  • Ensure food service delivery meets client specifications and company standards.
  • Promote the safety, wellbeing, and development of team members.
  • Deliver a positive and welcoming customer experience.
  • Manage cash handling, banking, and stocktaking activities.
  • Become proficient in company systems including e-prophIT, POS, Drive, and BITE.
  • Support the Catering Manager in achieving agreed KPIs and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and client requirements.
  • Assist with training and mentoring team members where required.
  • Respond positively to reasonable management requests and operational needs.
  • Provide flexible cover during periods of holiday or staff absence.

What We’re Looking For:

Essential Skills
  • Previous catering experience.
  • Experience carrying out a variety of catering tasks.
  • Good computer literacy skills.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Understanding of food safety, health and safety, and relevant legislation.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Desirable Skills
  • Previous supervisory or team leader experience.
  • NVQ, apprenticeship, or equivalent catering qualification.
  • Food Hygiene Level 3 Certificate (or willingness to complete company training).
