Summary
This list of duties and responsibilities, which follows, represents the broad range of tasks which may be required to be undertaken either routinely or periodically. This list is not exhaustive and the role may include additional duties which are not listed here. The types of finance activities you will be supported to learn and get involved in:- Preparing monthly management accounts and variance analyses. Using Xero software to prepare the above. Maintaining and updating our NL chart of accounts. Preparing bank reconciliations, preparing and posting Xero journals re prepayments and accruals. Creating zones and teams to isolate and account for different business segments. Maintaining an accurate fixed asset register, with additions disposals and posting deprecation journals to the correct zones. Ensuring the integrity and accuracy all balance sheet ledgers. Ensuring the accounts contain only accurate and valid transactions. Undertaking and overseeing that control account reconciliations are done on a regular basis. Assisting with management accounts system updates and improvements. Ensuring Cumbria Healths contractual income is, via sales invoices, raised on time and accounted for correctly. Reviewing all sales invoices before being sent to the customer and assisting the Finance and Accounts Officer with invoice queries. Ensuring labour costs are correctly transferred into the accounts from the payroll system. Explaining budget variances with budget holders, and senior managers. Discussing budgetary requirements with Practice and PCN budget holders and collating budget requests. Assisting in the production of the annual budgets and helping to disseminate to budget holders. Helping to train CHL staff to understand financial information. Monitoring the receipt of income from customers, and payment to suppliers to agreed credit terms. Assist with overseeing short term treasury management i.e. ensuring that we have sufficient funds to pay stakeholders. Helping to ensure that fraudulent activities are promptly identified and scams avoided Helping to overseeing the work of our Finance Apprentices, and monitoring tasks delegated to them. Working with the Management Accountant 1 to support the Head of Finance with finance tasks. Generally supporting the Finance and Accounts Officer with all finance tasks Generally supporting the Finance Apprentice with all finance tasks You would be expected to organise and manage your time effectively, on a day to day basis, whilst working as part of a team.
