Summary

Essential – The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have significant experience managing facilities or operational services, with responsibility for line‑managing staff and handling confidential and sensitive information.
• Demonstrate strong leadership, organisation and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy school environment.
• Have sound knowledge of health and safety legislation, data protection and confidentiality requirements.
• Be a professional, calm and values‑driven leader who is approachable, resilient, solution‑focused and committed to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare.
• Hold GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.

This is a pivotal leadership role for an experienced and values‑driven Facilities Manager who wants to make a genuine difference to children’s learning by ensuring a safe, well‑run and welcoming school environment. You will have strategic and operational oversight of the school’s estate, health and safety, administration and operational services, leading a team of four to provide high‑quality support to classroom staff so teaching and learning can thrive. Working closely with the Headteacher, you will play a key role in decision‑making, compliance and long‑term planning, acting as a professional ambassador for the school at all times. The role offers variety, responsibility and autonomy, combining people leadership with hands‑on operational oversight across premises, health and safety, first aid, HR administration and resources. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys leading others, solving problems and contributing to a positive, child‑centred school culture
