ACR Recruitment & Training Ltd is currently supporting a high-quality nursery setting in Wantage with the recruitment of two exciting Early Years positions.

Nursery Practitioner

Salary: Up to £28,000 per year (DOE & hours)
Hours: Up to 40 hours per week (flexible patterns available)

About the Role

Join a welcoming and supportive nursery team, delivering high-quality care and education to children aged 0–5 years.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver outstanding care and learning experiences
  • Support children’s development in line with EYFS
  • Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment
  • Build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues
  • Maintain safeguarding and health & safety standards
  • Work collaboratively within the nursery team
    Requirements
    • Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (essential)
    • Strong knowledge of EYFS
    • Previous UK nursery experience
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
    • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)

      Third in Charge

      Salary: Up to £34,000 per year (DOE)
      Hours: 40 hours per week (part-time considered)

      About the Role

      A fantastic opportunity for a senior practitioner ready to step into leadership, supporting the management team in the day-to-day running of the nursery.

      Key Responsibilities
      • Support the Manager and Deputy in leading the nursery
      • Oversee daily operations and maintain high standards
      • Lead, mentor, and support nursery practitioners
      • Ensure compliance with EYFS, safeguarding, and Ofsted requirements
      • Support staff training and development
      • Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead when required
      • Build positive relationships with parents and families
      • Cover management responsibilities in senior staff absence
        Requirements
        • Level 3 Early Years qualification or above (essential)
        • Proven experience in a senior or leadership role
        • Strong knowledge of EYFS and safeguarding
        • Excellent leadership and communication skills
        • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
