About the Role
Cardiff West Community High School is seeking an experienced and highly organised Data Manager to play a key role in supporting the school’s leadership, staff and students through the effective management of data and information systems.
As Data Manager, you will take lead responsibility for the school’s information management systems, ensuring the accurate collection, analysis and reporting of pupil and staff data. You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), supporting strategic decision-making and ensuring the smooth running of key processes such as assessment, reporting and timetabling.
You will also line manage members of the data and examinations team and contribute to the wider administrative and operational effectiveness of the school.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage all aspects of the school’s Management Information System (MIS)
• Maintain accurate student, staff, curriculum and assessment data
• Support SLT with data analysis, reporting and communications
• Lead on data collection, statutory returns and reporting to parents and governors
• Construct and maintain the school timetable
• Produce and analyse data-rich reports to support teaching and learning
• Line manage the Examinations Officer and Post-16 Data Officer
• Oversee examination administration and post-results services
• Deliver training to staff on data systems and processes
About You
Essential Requirements
• Experience in data management, analysis and reporting
• Strong experience using MIS systems
• Excellent IT, analytical and organisational skills
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and to deadlines
• Strong communication skills and ability to build effective relationships
• Educated to A level standard or equivalent (or relevant experience)
Desirable
• Experience working in an educational setting
• Knowledge of timetabling, examinations processes or school reporting systems
• Relevant qualifications in ICT, business administration or data systems
