Summary
Part-Time Personal Assistant (PA)
Location - Sarn, Bridgend
Hours - 8 hours per week - Part-time – flexible hours to be discussed
Rate of Pay - £14.50 per hour
Looking for a kind, reliable, and patient Personal Assistant to support a lady who has had a stroke and lives with early stages of vascular dementia. Mobility is limited, but she remains independent in many aspects of daily life. The role is focused on companionship, encouragement, and practical support with everyday tasks to help her maintain independence and quality of life.
Very minimal personal care is required. The ideal candidate will enjoy conversation, be empathetic, and provide calm, reassuring support.
Main Responsibilities
Providing friendly companionship and emotional support
Engaging in conversation and shared activities such as board games and gentle hobbies
Supporting with light household tasks (e.g. tidying, laundry, simple meal preparation)
Assisting with daily routines and prompts as needed
Supporting safe mobility around the home (no heavy lifting required)
Accompanying on short outings or appointments if required
Encouraging independence and respecting dignity at all times
Personal Care - Very minimal personal care support (e.g. gentle assistance or prompts only)
About You
Caring, patient, and understanding
Enjoys spending time with others and building a trusting relationship
Good communication and listening skills
Experience with stroke survivors, dementia, or similar conditions is desirable but not essential
Reliable, trustworthy, and respectful
Non-smoker preferred
Additional Requirements
Enhanced DBS check (maybe required)
References required
Right to work in the UK

5.6 weeks holiday per year (pro rata).
SSP will be paid at the lower amount of either £123.25 OR 80% of normal earnings. For workers whose pay varies week to week, this will be an average of the previous 8 weeks' pay.
