Our client is a leading specialist subcontractor operating within the construction sector, delivering high-quality concrete structures, groundwork, and civil engineering projects across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to join their team on a major construction project.
The RoleAs Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all site logistics activities, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials, deliveries, vehicles, plant, and personnel across site. You will manage a small team of Traffic Marshals, labourers and work closely with the Site Management team to maintain smooth day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities• Supervise and organise a team of Traffic Marshals.
• Schedule, receive, and sign for important site deliveries.
• Monitor and coordinate the movement and allocation of plant and equipment across site.
• Carry out regular checks on site plant and equipment, ensuring inspection records are maintained and any defects are reported promptly.
• Liaise with plant hire suppliers regarding deliveries, collections, servicing, and maintenance requirements.
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and site management teams.
• Monitor site access and ensure deliveries are coordinated safely.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Requirements
• Experience working on large-scale construction projects.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Experience supervising site-based teams.
• Good understanding of construction health and safety requirements.
• CSCS Card essential.
• SSSTS or SMSTS qualification desirable.
• Experience within concrete structures, groundwork, RC frame, or civil engineering projects would be highly advantageous.
