Vacancy Reference: 200513
Salary: Grade 3, £24,685 - £25,249 per annum pro rata
This post is offered on a fractional basis (minimum 4hrs per month) and is fixed term until the 1st September 2027.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Student Ambassador to join the Adam Smith Business School on a permanent basis.
Are you passionate about your student journey and eager to help others start theirs? The Adam Smith Business School is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated incoming postgraduate taught (PGT) students to become part of our Student Ambassador team.
As a Student Ambassador, you will play an important role by sharing your story and honest advice with future students. Your experience will inspire and guide those thinking about joining a PGT programme at the Adam Smith Business School, helping them feel confident and excited to start their own journey.
What you will do:
• Share your experience by answering common questions about studying at the Adam Smith Business School, moving to Glasgow, and student life.
• Create engaging content such as videos and social media posts to showcase the student experience and promote the School.
• Represent the School at webinars, in-person events, and outreach activities, connecting directly with prospective students from around the world.
• Feature in photo and video shoots that showcase the student experience and support the School’s promotional efforts.
• Provide honest, helpful advice to support prospective students in making confident, informed decisions.
• Mentor future ambassadors by helping to train the next cohort of Student Ambassadors.
Why become a Student Ambassador?
This is a fantastic opportunity to:
• Build your CV with real-world experience in communication, marketing, and public engagement.
• Develop valuable content creation, communication and presentation skills.
• Strengthen your confidence working in a professional environment.
• Expand your personal and professional network within the Business School and beyond.
• Make a meaningful impact by helping others on their postgraduate journey.
• Paid flexible work that can fit around your studies.
If you are passionate about your student journey and excited to help others start theirs, we would love to hear from you.
How to apply
If you’re shortlisted for the role, you will be invited for a short interview. This will be a chance for us to find out more about why you want to become an ASBS Student Ambassador.
As part of your application, please also create a short video (no more than two minutes) showing us why you should be an ASBS Student Ambassador. You might like to talk about:
• Your name and degree programme at ASBS
• Why you decided to study in Glasgow
• Why you want to be a Student Ambassador
• What kind of content do you enjoy creating?
• A content idea for the Adam Smith Business School
Please send your video to business-marketing@glasgow.ac.uk
The video is a chance for you to showcase your content creation and editing skills. We are looking for Ambassadors who are confident in creating for Instagram and TikTok, but who can also create longer form content for YouTube.
As part of your Ambassador duties, we expect you to attend a drop-in session every fortnight at the Business School. This will be a chance for you to pitch new ideas and collaborate on content with other Ambassadors. We may also request that you attend events such as webinars and seminars to provide a student perspective.
Please note that this vacancy is only open to current registered University of Glasgow students, final year University of Glasgow students and prospective Post Graduate students.
