The Opportunity

Are you a passionate linguist with a flair for inspiring the next generation of readers and writers? Wardle Academy is seeking an ambitious and imaginative Teacher of English to join our high-performing department.

This is a fixed-term maternity cover, providing a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher looking for a new challenge, or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to hone their craft in a supportive, research-informed environment.

About Our Department

The English Department at Wardle Academy is a vibrant community of educators dedicated to academic rigour and a love for literature. We offer:

• A rich, diverse curriculum spanning KS3 to KS4 (GCSE English Literature/Language).
• Collaborative planning to ensure a manageable workload and high-quality resources.
• Cutting-edge facilities, including a dedicated department library and modern ICT suites.

What We Are Looking For:

• An individual with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in English or a related subject.
• A teacher who can deliver engaging lessons that challenge students of all abilities.
• A professional committed to the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils.
• Someone with a "can-do" attitude who will contribute to the wider life of the school (co-curricular clubs, trips, and pastoral care).
