Summary
A place children choose to come back to - and a role that makes that possible!
Your new opportunity
At Countryview Short Breaks Service, we provide high-quality short breaks for children and young people with disabilities, creating a space where they can relax, have fun, build independence and spend time with others.
Our service is more than just a place to stay - it’s somewhere children build familiarity, confidence and positive memories. Many return again and again, forming relationships and enjoying their time in a safe, homely and supportive environment.
As a Nightshift Intensive Support Practitioner, you’ll play a key role in making this experience consistent and reassuring through the night - ensuring children feel safe, settled and supported.
Working three nightshifts over a 7-day rota, you’ll provide person-centred overnight support to children and young people with a range of complex needs.
This includes:
- Creating a warm, calm and homely environment overnight
- Supporting children with medical, personal care and wellbeing needs
- Responding sensitively to anxieties or distressed behaviours during the night
- Monitoring wellbeing and promoting rest and comfort
- Recording information clearly and respectfully
About the setting
- A fully accessible, purpose-built bungalow
- Located in the peaceful surroundings of Quarriers Village
- Designed to feel safe, welcoming and familiar
- Includes sensory spaces and opportunities for relaxation and play
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for people who:
- Have the skills and qualifications to support children and young people in care, residential or community settings
- Take a trauma-informed, person-centred approach
- Are calm, patient and confident supporting during quieter, more vulnerable times
- Can work independently on nightshift patterns
- Are committed to delivering consistent, high-quality care
Why join us?
- Be part of a service children enjoy, trust and return to
- Work in a small, welcoming setting where relationships matter
- Enhanced nightshift pay between midnight–7am
- Ongoing training and development opportunities
- A role where your impact is genuinely felt by children and families
