Summary
the successful candidate will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and parents to help pupils achieve their full potential in a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with SEN.
- Assist teachers in delivering personalised learning plans and differentiated activities.
- Support pupils with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage independence and confidence.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
- Support pupils with personal care needs where required.
- Help maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, external professionals, and families.
- Experience working with children or young people in an educational, care, or support setting.
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN, ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or complex needs.
- Teaching Assistant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification (or equivalent).
- Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and inclusive learning practices.
- Experience using visual supports, Makaton, or alternative communication methods.
