Summary
At The Caledonian Edinburgh, our culinary philosophy blends precision, creativity and the finest Scottish ingredients. We are seeking a Pastry Demi Chef De Partie to support the kitchen brigade in crafting refined, high-quality dishes that reflect the luxury and heritage of our iconic hotel.
The Person:
- Passionate about food, flavour and exceptional culinary standards
- A confident cook with strong attention to detail and consistency
- Calm under pressure and comfortable in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- A proactive team player with a positive approach to learning and
- Flexible, reliable and adaptable to business needs.
The Role:.
- Prepare, cook and present dishes to luxury brand standards under the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef
- Maintain a clean, organised workstation in line with hygiene and safety requirements
- Support menu development and contribute new ideas under supervision
- Assist in supervising and developing junior team members, including Commis Chefs
- Work collaboratively across kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow recipes, portion guidelines and presentation standards to ensure quality and consistency
- Prepare ingredients, manage mise en place and monitor stock levels
- Adhere to food safety, hygiene regulations and kitchen operating procedures
- Participate in pre- and post-service briefings and team meetings
- Adapt dishes to dietary needs while maintaining menu integrity and guest satisfaction.
